Transports
Everyday Oporto receives 270 000 vehicles. To manage all this movement, the Town House has installed the SIGA Inteligent System of Automated Management, that controls by computer the lights and the vehicle movement in the city. A video system allows to coordinate the police on duty on the streets. There are 16 municipal parking lots with a total of 3 394 places and 7 free parking lots with the capacity to receive 5 658 vehicles. There are also 20 private parks with a total of 3 548 places. Prices can vary form 55$00 to 300$00 per hour.
The SIGA has helped reduce the number of deaths in traffic accidents in the city. There are 320 parking-meters spread through the city.
